As I sat at the table snapping this picture of my slice, the aroma of buttery cheese flooded the immediate vicinity. I can't remember a time recently when the smell of cheese has been so prevalent on a pizza I've ordered.
I was so happy there wasn't any sauce on this slice, because it not only let the cheeses shine, but the wonderful crust as well.
Beautiful alveolation on this crust!
I actually paused for a moment during my first bite, because the bready aroma of the escaping steam was so wonderful to take in. That honeycomb looking alveolation on the end crust was also something to behold.
Crust flavor is something that can easily get lost amongst the complexities of sauce and toppings. However, there's no chance of that happening with the way this slice was designed. The cheese and the crust play off of one another incredibly well.
The cheese blend was incredible, marrying with the crust perfectly. The buttery creaminess with plenty of stringy cheese pull, helped to make this slice a feast for the senses. Someone who isn't even a pizza lover if such a thing exists would even be over the moon for this slice.

The cost was $8.20 for a slice and was very filling, even with the absence of meat and vegetable toppings. A slice and drink perfectly satisfied me for lunch on this particular day
Pizza Ponte's 'Four Cheese' slice is kind of perplexing. It's a simple slice, but is by no means simple tasting. It truly is a work of art. I'll definitely be back for more of these slices in the near future, next time possibly paired with a nice ale or wheat beer!
